Marco Speicher war wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter und Doktorand am Deutschen Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI). 2014 absolvierte er den Master of Science (M.Sc.) an der Universität des Saarlandes zu dem Thema "Exploring 3D Interaction Techniques for Stereoscopic Content using Consumer Tracking Devices". Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind die Interaktion mit 3D-Benutzerschnittstellen in virtuellen Umgebungen, sowie Virtual Reality Anwendungen. Herr Speicher ist Teil des Forschungs- und Entwicklungsteams des Innovative Retail Laboratory (IRL) und befasst sich im Rahmen dessen mit dem Schwerpunktthema der technologischen Weiterentwicklung von Demonstratoren, fokussiert auf Virtual Reality Shopping. Im Rahmen des Software Campus, einem durch das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung geförderten Entwicklungsprogramms, untersucht er aktuell Chancen und Risiken einer online VR Shopping Plattform.
